वॉरिव्यन सॗत्य वारॖ छसॖ नो
चारॖ करॖ म्योन, मालिन्यो हो
English Translation
O parents mine (मालिन्यो हो)
O parents mine (मालिन्यो हो)
I am not well (वारॖ छसॖ नो) in my in-laws home (वॉरिव्यन)
Help me find a way (चारॖ करॖ म्योन), O parents mine
गरि द्रायस आबॖ नटिस
नॊट मॆ फुटमो, मालिन्यो हो
या दीतोम नटि नॊट्टा
नतॖ नटिचे हारॖ मालिन्यो
English Translation
Left home (गरि द्रायस) to fetch a pot (earthen) of water (आबॖ नटिस)
But Alas ! the pot broke (नॊट मॆ फुटमो), O parents mine
Please either give (दीतोम) me a new pot (नटि नॊट्टा)
Or money (हारॖ) to pay for it, O parents mine
शुर्य पानस स्यॅन्दॖर गॅयमो
वुडुर खसुन कुडुर प्योम
कतरि छ़ारान कत्तॖर सॆनिमो
वॆत्रि नून प्योम, मालिन्यो हो
English Translation
My delicate body and mind (शुर्य पानस) is reduced to powdered vermilion (स्यॅन्दॖर)
Climbing (खसुन) the nearby hill (वुडुर) is becoming arduous (कुडुर)
While searching (छ़ारान) pieces of the broken pot (कतरि),
I stepped onto (सॆनिमो) a broken piece (कत्तॖर)
It hurt deeply like salt on a wound (वॆत्रि नून), O parents mine!
हशि लॉयनम टॊपिसॖय थफ
सुय मॆ गोमो मोतॖ (मरनॖ) खॊतॖ सख
यॅनदॖरॖ पचि प्यठ न्यॅनदॖर पॆयमो
च़ॅक्कॖर फुटॖमो मालिन्यो हो
English Translation
My mother-in-law (हशि) grabbed (थफ) me by my hair (टॊपिसॖय)
That felt (सुय मॆ गोमो) worse than death (मोतॖ खॊतॖ सख)
I fell asleep (न्यॅनदॖर) on the spinning wheel (यॅनदॖरॖ पचि)
The wheel (च़ॅक्कॖर) broke (फुटॖमो), O parents mine!
यारॖ दाद्यि तारि गॅयसो
बरॅबुक छुम आमुतुय
हब्बॖ खोतूनॆ वॊन इशारा
दिल हुशारा मालिन्यो हो
English Translation
I am distraught (तारि) thinking about my love (यारॖ दाद्यि)
My eyes are full of tears (बरॅबुक : बरॅ = Full of, बुक = Water splash)
Habba Khatoon is telling (वॊन) you in innuendos (इशारा)
Please wake up (हुशारा), O parents mine!
