Bhushan Lal Kaul (Deep Ji)

    नमसकार

I am Bhushan Lal Kaul, Deep is my pen name. I am known as Deep/Deep Ji/भूषण कौल (दीप). My date of birth is 22.05.1944. My father's name is Lt. Pt. Gulshan Kaul who happened to be a social reformer, an associate of Kashyap Bandhu (Keshav Bandhu). Originally resident of Dalhassanyar, Habba Kadal, Srinagar, Kashmir. I left Srinagar in 1973 and stayed in Jammu up to 1995 when I was transferred to Kanpur (UP). I retired from RBI (Reserve Bank of India) in 2004. I have my own house in Jammu, however, currently I'm residing at Ghaziabad). I have three sons, all married. I lost my wife on 16.10.2016. I started my cultural activities in 1959 from Kala Kendra when I started acting in stage plays. I started my own theater known as INT (Indian National Theater). I have two plays (कदी तस्वीर और मनहूस). I was an approved radio voice and have taken part in a few radio plays from Jammu Radio Station. At Jammu I was running Dada Phalke Drama and Culture Club after leaving INT in Srinagar. I have directed and produced a good number of plays in Srinagar, Jammu, and Kanpur. I have written lyrics for three music albums that are currently available in market (कागॖर/ओंम//सोज़े दिल). I am currently working on a new music album. I have published a book of songs in Kashmiri language named नवि ज़ॖच़ॖ. I have edited a book on Sai Baba and have translated some scripts concerning cookery shoes for radio/TV. I have translated a few verses of Dr. C B Satputey, Head of Sai Global Trust. I have conducted workshops relating to Kashmiri language and in this connection I have published a book कऻशुर कऻयदॖ in support of one friend viz. Arvind Shah. I am associated with a few social organizations and in particular JK Vichar Manch where I am assigned editorial work related to Kashmiri language. Last but not least I am sending my posts in Kashmiri language through mobile to different whatsapp groups. Along with the post, I send Panchang for the current day. I am also running Varmala matrimonial for my community, free of cost. I have enjoyed my accomplishments and have even bigger plans to do more. Age has been catching up with me and I am suffering from an eye problem which has caused loss of vision to some extent preventing me from doing much book reading. Treatment is ongoing for the last two and a half years which has slowed down my day to day activities. But I am looking forward to contributing as much as I can to the ever expansive world of Kashmiri literature.
